As part of their Drama & Theatre Studies course, our second year A Level students have written, produced, directed and will be performing their own plays this December. There will be two different plays on each evening, and all six will be performed in our purpose-built, fully equipped new theatre. Each play is a demonstration of the skills, knowledge and awareness that these young performers have acquired through their studies:
Performance Theatre Schedule:
13th Dec: Pure Insanity (6pm to 6:45pm) / My House (7:15pm to 8pm) 14th Dec: The Drawing Room (6pm to 6:45pm) / Behind Closed Doors (7:15pm to 8pm) 15th Dec: The Dying Light (6pm to 6:45pm) / Sleepless Cover (7:15pm to 8pm)

06/12/11: Lord Hunt Of Kings Heath Returns To Cadbury:
On the 2nd of December, Lord Hunt of Kings Heath made a return visit to the College to explain to AS Politics and Law students the role that the House of Lords plays in scrutinising and passing legislation as well as the make-up of the institution. He then fielded incisive questions from students Omar Saleh, Shimon Atunde, Will Gregory, Frank Lindsay and Humzah Sheikh on a variety of issues such as nuclear weapons in Iran to the economic cuts. Hopefully, this will lead to a return visit to the Houses of Parliament later in the year.

18/11/11: Upcoming Immersion Period:
The college timetable is going to change for a short period to allow for a variation in lesson delivery styles. Lessons for each subject will be effectively condensed into a single half day block of time either a morning or an afternoon. For instance a subject in block A will be replaced by a morning session on Tuesday. Therefore you could study Chemistry all morning followed by Art in the afternoon.

18/11/11: Our Open Day Was A Great Success:
On Saturday 12th November, Cadbury College hosted its annual Open Day. The event was attended by well over a thousand visitors. The day provided an opportunity for prospective students and their parents to explore the excellent facilities and displays and to talk to individual members of staff about subject information, careers and progression advice. The day was a great success and there was a busy and friendly atmosphere. The student reps and helpers contributed enormously to the success of the day.
The day included drama and music performances as well as the Principal’s talk and many prospective students took the opportunity to apply online at the college to ensure they will be interviewed for a place.
Many, many visitors were motivated sufficiently to give some wonderful compliments and feedback. If you attended the Open Day and would like to send us your thoughts, you can do so via our Facebook or Twitter pages. You can explore a gallery of photographs from the event here. |
