Each academic year, students in their second year at Cadbury College choose to take part in an enrichment activity. Students can choose from sports options, work experience opportunities, something to complement their learning or support a portfolio of charitiable organisations. This year, the charity enrichment group consists of 20 students, all eager to fundraise and support local, national and international charities by hosting events, sales and activities both in and out of college.
The students are divided into smaller groups, who each raise money for individual charities as a team. 8 of the students took part in a "sweet-tooth" sale this month, raising a fantastic sum of £228.44 which went to support the charity Orphans in Need. The team set up a stand in the foyer over break and lunch times for 2 days, selling sweet cones, cookies and Krispy Kreme donuts to students and staff.
Students in the team were: Yussra Mohamed, Nadira Ahmed, Khadijah Binta Hamid, Nawal Yafai, Shamaila Arshrd, Soniya Malana, Noor Chohan and Julienne Nsona.
Each charity group team is responsible for advertising their own event, and this team created posters and images for our communication screens so everyone in the college knew what was going on and when.
We are excited to see what the other teams will be getting up to throughout the rest of the academic year!
