Law students experience beyond the classroom

Law Courts

Students studying Law and Applied Law at Cadbury College had the opportunity to explore life within the legal field beyond the classroom last week.

Second year students studying Law at the University are partially assessed on presentation skills.  Cadbury College provided the students with topics covered in A-Level and BTEC Level 3 classes in advance of the experience, and the students from The University of Law presented to our students.  Lawyers from Evershed, one of the top 50 law firms worldwide, supported the assessment of the University students' presentations, and our students were granted the opportunity to talk to them about their future prospects, working in law and different career options!

Students enjoy Business Mentoring!

Business Mentoring

Our Envision enrichment students have been busy again in their most recent session at GKN in Redditch.  This week's business mentoring session saw 10 GKN business mentors working with our 23 students to tackle problem solving, developing key transferable skills to support our students' development.

Students were working with their mentors to come up with some practical solutions to any problems the teams are facing with their projects! Problem solving is one of the 4 key skills that the students are developing as part of their Community Apprentice programme.

Product Design at Cadbury World

This week, 3D Design and Product Design students visited Cadbury World to support their studies.

The students first enjoyed a tour of the factory, with a predominant focus on the manufacturing and engineering areas.  Cadbury World apprentices joined the group on their tour, and highlighted the benefits of the apprenticeship scheme to our students. In the afternoon, the students were set a product design task which they all worked on very well. They had to design a new product for Cadbury World with a theme and session in mind. They worked in small groups and had to draw designs, model examples with modelling clay and present it to the Cadbury engineers.

Charlie Clarke, George Crabtree and Stella Blizzard won the challenge with a Valentine's themed design.
