What does the course involve?

Course Outline

You’ll cover the key approaches to Psychology – cognitive, social, learning and biological. A practical focus on the application of Psychology gives you an insight into areas such as the nature-nurture debate, why people are aggressive, consumer behaviour – how and why people buy products, and gender identity – why do people behave in a certain way and what chemical differences could there be.

You’ll also look at topics which are highly relevant to today’s society in terms of mental health, such as stress and addiction and different treatments. Your own research project will take you through the same processes as a Psychologist. Our optional unit is Forensic Psychology, which many universities offer as a module and one which links to the foundations of Psychology.
