Emma Jones joined Cadbury College in 2013 from Selly Park Technology College for Girls to study Business Studies, English Literature and Travel and Tourism, achieving the top A grade in Travel and Tourism at the end of her two years' studying here.
After her time at Cadbury College, Emma decided to search for employment rather than a university place, and applied to the full-time apprenticeship opportunity with Hilton Hotels.
She says: “I'm currently working at the Hilton Hotel by the NEC in Birmingham. It's a full-time apprenticeship and I get to experience different areas of the hotel and receive full training in the various departments. I've been there 6 months now and I'm really enjoying it. It's been a real eye-opener into how the hotel industry works and just what it feels like to work full time 9-5 most days! I'm very lucky if I get the weekend off! I'm throughly enjoying the experience though, and it has made me realise that this is the industry I want to work in throughout my career!"
Emma is planning on seeing through her apprenticeship over the next 6 months, and then she is looking to apply for a university place to study Hospitality Management to further progres her career. Well done Emma!
