GCSE Results Day

GCSE Results Day Students

The results
As we approach the 24th August many year 11 students will begin to feel on edge, as years of study and waking up to get to school on time finally bares fruit. Some will achieve the grades they hoped and studied for, others will get grades they are happy enough with and some will get grades in certain subjects that they’re not so happy with. It is important to remember that these results, although high in importance for the next steps of the journey, are not the be all and end all if they do not go the right way. This is why we at Cadbury College are introducing the level 2 pathways.

The level 2 pathways in; art & design, business, creative performance, health & social and science are all designed to help those who are not happy with the GCSEs they received, to get on to a A-level/ BTEC course in relation to the pathway of their choice. The pathway lasts one academic year with a focus on the pathway chosen and an option to retake English and/or maths GCSEs if required for the latter preference of level 3 course. It is also possible to retake the given GCSEs if the student simply wants to achieve a better grade than before. It’s important to remember that if you get a lower grade than achieved previously, the higher grade will stand.

How to get onto a pathway
If results day does not go as planned and hopes of going onto further education are still the route a student wishes to take, information on the pathway courses are available. Depending on the school the student attends, there will be printed content with information on all pathways available, if not, all information will be available online. Teachers and staff at schools will also be able to inform and recommend which route to take and suggest to apply online via the Cadbury College website, which everyone seeking to choose this option must do. Those who have achieved a grade 3 (D) in English and maths will be invited to an interview on the 4th September 2017 where they will have the chance to gain their place on their pathway of choice for the forthcoming academic year.

Good luck to all in getting the grades you’ve worked for and we hope to see you this September.
