On Tuesday April 19th 2016, Cadbury College welcomed three representatives from Barclays Life Skills, who were prepared to conduct an interactive workshop with our second year students to provide them with useful insight to succeed at university and employment interviews.
Our students, who take part in the WorKing Knowledge enrichment programme at Cadbury Sixth Form College, have had a variety of different experiences when it comes to interviews. One of the main aims of the workshop was to share these experiences with one another and develop a stronger understanding of how to perform well at an interview, in a bid to improve employability prospects for our students. Students learned about various interview techniques and what they could expect during a variety of interview processes and how best to prepare for these.
The representatives from Barclays Life Skills (Harsy Singh, Kate Sparks and Dave Willis) also gave students a strong insight into working within the finance industry at Barclays, and what their interview experiences were like in order to gain their individual positions at the company.
The students found the experience to be beneficial, as they are currently applying for places at university to study a variety of degrees and courses, including pharmacy, finance and accounting, project management and computer programming.
Thank you to Barclays Life Skills for taking the time to inspire our students!
